Hunting

Bloubank consists of 6500 acres in an 25000 acre conservancy. We are the only outfitter operating on the conservancy. There is a vast amount of game from Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard to most species of plains game. It consists of typical bushveld terrain that are very diverse with large trees in some parts and changing into brush in other areas. There are rolling hills with dry river beds that crosses the farm that gives us a diverse ecosystem, and we are able to sustain large herds of plains game. Some times in the year it might be necessary to walk and stalk but for the most part you will be hunting from blinds. We have ground, pit and elevated blinds. We have moderate temperatures during winter months from May to August. The other months can be quite hot but manageable.

We hunt from March till October but we can arrange a hunt for any time of the year. Rifle hunting is normally done from the vehicle we drive around and look for fresh tracks and signs of game and then do a stalk on foot. There are also blinds available for rifle hunters. We have a bow-hunting area exclusively for bow hunters where no rifle hunting is allowed. This is conducted on another part of the conservancy that consist of another 6000 acres. The 25000 acres is one piece of property and all hunting is done on it, there is no prolonged driving between farms to get to hunting grounds. If you want species that are not on the conservancy it can be arranged but then some travelling might be necessary depending on the species, but most are closely available. All species listed are on our property . We have a well equipped hunting vehicle for transportation on the farm and collecting of animals shot. Sight seeing trips can be arranged to the KRUGER NATIONAL PARK and DRAKENSBERG ESKARPMENT for observers at an additional cost.

DAILY RATES INCLUDE

1. Services of professional hunter, tracker, skinner, camp staff and hunting vehicle.

2. Accommodation, meals, bottle of wine or beer with dinner, soft drinks, laundry service.

3. Field preparation of trophies.

4. Transportation of trophies to a local Taxidermist or dip, ship and pack company.

5. Pick up and drop of at EASTGATE AIRPORT HOEDSPRUIT(there are two flights daily to and from JOHANNESBURG –OR THAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT).

DAILY RATES EXCLUDES

1. Fees for game taken or wounded.

2. Taxidermy fees; packing, dipping and shipping to final destination.

3. Hotel charges before and after contracted period.

4. Air charters if needed.

5. Change of hunting area $125/hunter – if required.

6. Transfers to and from JOHANNESBURG- O.R TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT and hunting area. $150/per person. 7. Gratuities for staff. (below is an estimate to work from)

Approx – $15/day for camp staff, tracker and skinner, this is in total NOT per person.

Approx - $60/day for your guide/ professional hunter. (this is totally at your discretion you can decide what you want to give if you want to give anything)

BOOKINGS AND PAYMENT

We require 50% of the total daily rate to confirm your booking. The balance, of your daily rate is payable on your arrival on the farm. Trophy fees for animals taken or wounded, is payable at the end of your safari. In the event of cancellation the following is required; if you cancel you must rebook the hunt for another time in the same year or the deposit will be forfeited. Only payments in the form of cash or traveler’s cheques will be accepted. Personal cheques will not be accepted. Prices are subject to possible annual increases which include hunters that books safaris in advance.

LIABILITY

While exercising the utmost care to ensure the safety of you, our client, and your belongings, we cannot be held responsible for any illness, accidents, acts of GOD or loss whatsoever, nor any expenses arising there from. Each hunter and observer will be required to sign an indemnity form on arrival, prior to the hunt.

WHAT TO BRING

- Camo shirts, long and short sleeves.

- Camo pants, long and short sleeves.

- Warm windproof jacket and sweater.

- Clothes need to be soft and quite to avoid noise.

- Woolen socks, well worn boots or suitable walking shoes.

- Range finder and extra bow equipment.

- Hat or cap, face mask or como paint.

- Sunscreen lotion and bug spray.

- Camera, binoculars, video camera with tripod, flash and film.

- Electrical adapter 220-110 volts, appliances in South Africa use 220 volts.

- Flashlight and batteries.
